Special Programs at Dinosaur State Park
Throughout the year, Dinosaur State Park schedules special programs that feature topics related to the park, natural history and dinosaurs will be scheduled. The public is welcome and admission is usually free with park admission. Activities at Dinosaur State Park are family-oriented. Check the schedule often for events that are added.
Events in 2019
FEBRUARY - Fridays at 11 a.m. Dino Reading Hour in the Discovery Room. Story will be followed by a dinosaur-themed craft project. Free with admission to the Exhibit Center.

School Vacation Week - April 8-14, 2019 -The park will host a series of films, animal programs, crafts and track talks all week.
April 11, 2019 - Crocodile and Alligator Show presented by Rainforest Reptiles of Massachusetts begins at 1 p.m. Tickets are available with admission on the day of the show at 9 a.m. Active Members of the Friends may attend the show without paying admission.
April 14, 2019 - Volunteer/Friends Annual Recognition Event will take place at 4:30 pm. Mark your calendar. More details will follow.
MAY - Track Casting area reopens May 1.
Saturday, May 4, 2019 - Celebrate Bird Day. Horizon Wings will present a bird program outdoors at 1 p.m.
Saturday, June 8 - Connecticut Open House Day. There will be free admission all day from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Saturday, August 17 - Dinosaur State Park Day will celebrate the 53rd anniversary of the discovery of the dinosaur tracks. Admission to this family-friendly festival is free all day. Special activities, sponsored by the Friends of Dinosaur State Park and Arboretum, will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. outdoors and indoors. These include live animal shows, face painting, games with prizes, continuous films and educational programs, music and a giant tent featuring many craft activities.
