Special Programs at Dinosaur State Park
Throughout the year, Dinosaur State Park schedules special programs that feature topics related to the park, natural history and dinosaurs will be scheduled. The public is welcome and admission is usually free with park admission. Activities at Dinosaur State Park are family-oriented. Check the schedule often for events that are added.
Events in 2018
Saturday, March 24 - Webelos Workshop for scouts from 9:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Reservations required. See Scout Troop Programs for details.
April 7 - Mining activity reopens, weather permitting.
Saturday, April 7 - Sunday, April 8 - School Vacation activities include animal programs, track talks, films and crafts. (Park is closed on Mondays.)
Tuesday, April 10 - Sunday, April 15 - School Vacation Week activities include animal programs, track talks, films and crafts.
Thursday, April 12 - Massachusetts Birds of Prey will present a live bird program at 1 p.m. Attendance is limited to 100 visitors. Tickets will be available free with park admission at 9 a.m. on the day of the show. The event is sponsored by the Friends of Dinosaur Park and Arboretum, Inc.

MAY - Track Casting area reopens May 1.
Saturday, June 9 - Connecticut Open House Day. There will be free admission all day from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Saturday, August 18 - Dinosaur State Park Day will be held, to celebrate the 52nd anniversary of the discovery of the dinosaur tracks. Admission to this family-friendly festival is free all day. Special activities, sponsored by the Friends of Dinosaur State Park and Arboretum, will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. outdoors and indoors. These include live animal shows, face painting, games with prizes, continuous films and educational programs, live music and a giant tent featuring many craft activities.
