Dinosaur State Park Day is held every August to celebrate the discovery of the tracks in 1966
In 2016, Dinosaur State Park celebrated the 50th anniversary of the discovery of the tracks with a two-day party featuring a wide range of free activities for visitors of all ages. Thousands of visitors joined in the fun during this special anniversary event. The weekend activities brought joy to those who came for the games, crafts, educational programs and prizes. Children, parents and grandchildren were encouraged to experiment with arts and crafts, listen to lively music, watch live animal shows, and visit the indoor and outdoor features of the park. Dilly visited with the children and adults.
All activities were free, except for the Mining Sluice, which had a materials' fee. Additional programs and films were held in the Exhibit Center which had no admission charge for this special day.
