"Ask a Geologist" program. - 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. on the following Saturdays:

                  September 13, October 11, and November 8

A staff naturalist or geologist will be available to answer questions about rocks, minerals, and other geology-related topics.

A "Scouting Day" has been scheduled on October 18, from  8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Make a Dinosaur Tracks bookmark

Mine for Gems and Fossils  To share in the experience, participants will need to purchase a bag of "mining rough" that is available in the Friends' bookshop. Both mineral and gem or fossil bags are available. Prices range from $5.50 to $9 a bag. This activity will be available from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday during the summer and on weekends after Labor Day.

School Field Trips are available and have been designed to meet  the Connecticut State Curriculum standards.  See details.

Scout Troops are encouraged to visit the park when "Ask A Geologist" program is scheduled and ask questions that will fulfill badge requirements.
