park naturalist leads a walk on the trails

Park Has More than Two Miles of Trails

Trails are open for hiking daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is no fee to use the trails.

Park Naturalists frequently lead walks along the park's trails which extend through a variety of habitats, including a red maple and shrub swamp; forest ares of sugar maple, birch, hickory, oak and beech; open meadows; and a traprock ridge.

The traprock ridge reveals brocken pieces of basaltic rock that once flowed as hot lava covering the habitat of Connecticut's dinosaurs.

Please check at the Admission Desk for the schedule of guided trail walks.

Note: Pets are NOT allowed on the park's hiking trails. They are only allowed in the picnic and open areas.
